Srila Prabhupada

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977), Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), is the world’s most distinguished teacher of Vedic culture, philosophy and religion.

Srila Prabhupada translated over sixty volumes of classic Vedic scriptures (such as Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam) into the English language. For their authority, depth, and clarity, his books have won praise from professors at universities including Harvard, Oxford, and Georgetown. To date, 500 million of his books have been distributed in 80 languages, making him the best-selling author since the Bible.

Throughout his works, Srila Prabhupada conveyed the natural meaning of the scriptures without interpretation, giving us an authentic rendition of the Vedic conclusions on such important topics as the purpose of human life, the nature of the soul, and detailed information about God.

From 1966 to 1977, despite his advanced age, Srila Prabhupada circled the globe fourteen times on lecture tours that took him to six continents. Though no longer physically present among us, he lives forever in his instructions, books, videos and audio recordings, and in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

Vaisesika Dasa

Vaisesika Dasa, veteran monk, author, and spiritual guide, travels throughout the world sharing knowledge gained from four decades of bhakti-yoga practice and dedication to spiritual entrepreneurialism. Speaking at corporations, universities, and nonprofits, he teaches universal principals of personal spiritual development. Renowned for his wisdom and inspiring speech, he has a way of making ancient yoga wisdom and practices relevant and accessible.

As a teen, he was an avid spiritual seeker. Soon after receiving a Back to Godhead magazine from a friend in the spring of 1973, he moved into the ISKCON temple in San Francisco at the age of sixteen and, with the blessings of his parents, became a disciple of Srila Prabhupada and a full-time monk dedicated to the practice of Krishna bhakti. Today, he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, Her Grace Nirakula Devi Dasi, also a disciple of Srila Prabhupada. Together, they have developed an ISKCON community of three hundred families in Silicon Valley, based on the study and distribution of Srila Prabhupada’s books. He is an initiating guru in ISKCON and travels widely to teach the tenets of devotional service and deliver seminars, offering practical guidance on making book distribution effective and enjoyable.
